Five Children and It - Freddie Hightmore

Five children were sent to an English countryside due to war. While exploring the seaside through a forbidden room, they encountered IT. He's like a genie, except that his wish doesn't last past sundown. This is a hilarious and oftentimes melancholy tale of children and their wishes and the lessons to be learned from it. This is also a book by Edith Nesbit. I'm planning to read it to my children and see how they compare to the movie we just saw via Netflix's instant play.
